pcfe quotes spring 2007

after the autumn term ´06, I posted this list of memorable quotes from the good folks at the faculty of PCFE Film School. this time around, regarding the spring term ´07, it's a much shorter list, but still oh so good. anonymity is a given, though. (if any PCFE alumns has a quote or two to add, please send them!)

"That´s a terrible shot. There´s no foreground, middleground or background!"

"I believe in Freud. Everything's about fucking." (re: character's motivations)

"Ignorance is a bliss, but not necessarily a good thing to have." (re: a directors mentality on set)

"The lens was so wide you could see what was going on behind the camera!"

"There's no rules to editing. [...] But what you just did with that cut was completely wrong."

"In editing, when you say to yourself 'I don't know what the heck I just did, but it sure as hell worked', you know you're on the right track."

"You have to let go of the notion of the cliché as something with a bad undertaste. We are an art, often using clichés. Sometimes you have to use the cliche, which everyone will understand."

"Everything has to be simplified with regard to what has to be visualised."

"I really don't know what's wrong with this computer/camera/button/thingie/programme/deck/microphone... STEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEE!"
